Morgana is King Uther Pendragon’s illegitimate daughter and was known to the people of Camelot as the King’s ward. She was best friends with her maid Gwen, and was also good friends with Merlin. She is a beautiful girl attracting a number of men, including Arthur and Merlin. She has a feisty and cheeky personality; she is brave and forthright, and is also independent and would not hesitate to stand up to what she believes in.

She was also born with magic and is a seer, a person with prophetic powers, though she also hides these powers for fear of being executed. When her magic began to develop, she was unable to turn to anyone for help for fear that they would turn her over to the King. She felt isolated and soon, she comes to form a bond with Morgause, a dark sorceress after witnessing how King Uther can execute people he learns who has magical powers. She soon finds herself in opposition with the King and with Morgause’s influence in her; she becomes fully committed to have revenge against king Uther and wants to take over Camelot.

Katie McGrath plays the role of Morgana. Katie was born on October 24, 1983 in Dublin, Ireland. She has appeared in several TV shows including Damage, The Tudors, Eden, Freakdog and The Queen.
